Planet Ice Basingstoke Reopens for Half Term Fun

Planet Ice is pleased to announce the reopening of our Basingstoke rink just in time for Half Term! We’re excited to welcome fans back for the Basingstoke Bison vs. Peterborough Phantoms game on Saturday, October 25th, followed by public ice skating from Sunday, October 26th. Starting November 1st, our popular Learn to Skate courses will resume, with online booking available via Direct Debit. For added convenience, all services can be booked and paid for at the rink as well - please note we are currently operating cashless.

While Phase 1 of our refurbishment is still underway, we’re proud to offer a fully operational ice pad for training, hockey, and public skating. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to serving the skating community as swiftly and safely as possible. Coaches and private hire customers will receive updates on availability from Sunday onwards.

Chief Operations Officer Heath Rhodes shared, “We’re incredibly grateful for our customers’ patience during this complex journey. Last weekend’s game cancellation was deeply disappointing, but our priority remains the health and safety of everyone involved. We’re excited to move forward with a fantastic game and public skating this weekend.”

Visitors will enjoy access to indoor toilets, additional event facilities outside, and a vibrant match night atmosphere with food and drink available in the upstairs bar. The Bison Fanzone, located in the former Little Frankies space, adds even more buzz to the experience.

Heath added, “Seeing the Bison back on the ice tonight was a real triumph. It’s energizing to witness the pad come alive again, and our team is working tirelessly to complete Phase 1 in the coming weeks. I would like to thank our fantastic team at the rink who have worked tirelessly to make this happen”
