Skate Excellence Learn to Skate lessons focus on teaching the fundamentals of ice skating. Designed for beginners of all ages, abilities, and learning styles, these lessons offer a supportive and engaging environment to develop skating skills.
We offer Skate Excellence Small Group Lessons for adults, children, and families, catering to beginners and skaters at levels 1 to 5. Each session has a limited number of pupils with a dedicated coach, ensuring a focused and supportive learning experience.
Specially structured classes created by the Skate Excellence team using penguins. After completing the syllabus, young skaters can smoothly progress to Skate Excellence Learn to Skate level 1 and earn a Learn to Skate Ice Penguin certificate.
Open for skaters of all ages with disabilities. Skate Excellence Learn to Skate lessons in conjunction with Inclusive Skating teach the fundamentals of ice skating in a supportive environment and have been designed for beginners of all ages, abilities, and learning styles.
Learn the basics of synchronized skating, opening up opportunities to join local teams, make friends, get fit, and compete together. Perform set routines with your team, all working toward the same goal in a fun and dynamic environment.
A program developed by the Skate Excellence team for skaters aiming to break into show skating. Focused on performing arts on ice, skating moves, and skills used in shows, participants will become the future talent for Planet Ice shows.
Each day during school holidays, lessons run for 30 minutes over three or five consecutive days. After your lesson, you can join the public skate session to practice your new skills, providing the perfect opportunity to build confidence and improve at your own pace.

Lunch Offering
The 3 & 5 Day Lunch option includes your choice of a Burger and Chips or a Hot Dog and Chips, accompanied by any hot drink (excluding Deluxe Hot Chocolate & Festive Drinks).
Each day during school holidays, lessons run for 30 minutes over three or five consecutive days. Lessons focus on fundamental hockey skills, ideal for beginners or Hockey Excellence pupils at levels 1-3 looking to progress quickly.
Hockey Excellence is aimed at complete beginners, teaching them to skate so they can play ice hockey. Skaters will learn the fundamentals of the sport, covering both skating and hockey skills while progressing in a fun manner. This programme provides a strong foundation, helping them advance to junior or recreational teams where they can continue their training.
Suitable for all types of learners that have accomplished the Skate Excellence Level 1-10 programme. Once completed, skaters will have the basic knowledge of Free Skating and can progress to the British Ice Skating National Test Structure.
Learn dance patterns and step sequences with roots in ballroom dancing, requiring strong technical skating skills and excellent musicality. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a slice of cake after your dancing session.

We recommend wearing multiple warm layers and a thick pair of socks for your lessons. Depending on your lesson type, gloves and boot covers may be required.
We suggest arriving 15-20 minutes before your lesson to allow enough time to put on your skates and prepare for the session.
If you miss a lesson, it is typically non-refundable, and we cannot guarantee any rescheduled or makeup lessons. In rare cases, a makeup lesson may be possible, subject to coach and course availability, but this is not guaranteed.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer taster lessons.
Please refer to the attached grade boundaries, which provide guidance on determining your level. These boundaries are subject to change.
