Planet Ice Basingstoke Announcement

Due to unforeseen adjustments in the construction schedule, Planet Ice Basingstoke will not be ready for the Phase 1 launch originally planned for the first week of September. The onsite team have been meeting in the early part of this week to review the revised timeline and determine the necessary changes to the current plan, along with the implications for overall progress.

It’s important to emphasise that this delay is expected to be short, the rink will still open ahead of the start of the hockey season.

We remain committed to delivering a high-quality facility and appreciate your understanding as we work through these final stages.

The owners of the Basingstoke Bison will be communicating with fans regarding any fixtures affected by the delay, and updates will be shared in due course.

We recognise that this news may be disappointing for our customers, just as it is for the dedicated team onsite who have worked hard to meet the original September 1st target. Their efforts have been substantial, and we are grateful for their continued commitment.

We also want to remind everyone that attempting to access the building to take photographs is strictly discouraged. These actions distract contractors, pose health and safety risks, and ultimately contribute to further delays. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we move closer to completion.

Progress Highlights:

* External emergency doors have been installed, along with CCTV and intruder alarm systems.

* Internal doors and frames are scheduled for installation next week.

* The DJ booth and video gantry have been constructed, and a new sound system is now in place.

* Dressing rooms are being fully fitted with new cubicles, toilets, and showers.

* Customer toilets and the servery area within the rink are being repositioned and upgraded.
