Planet Ice Basingstoke – Opening Announcement

The brand Planet Ice, is excited to confirm the reopening of the Basingstoke Ice Rink from Monday, September 1st. In the initial first phase, the venue will be available for all forms of ice sports training.

From July 26th, the general public will be able to book Learn to Skate sessions, which start from Saturday, September 6th onwards via our online booking system at www.planet-ice.co.uk. Public Skate bookings will follow shortly.

Planet Ice are thrilled to announce that the Basingstoke Bison will play their first home game at the newly reopened rink on Friday, 5th September. The new operators, Steve Nell and Rob Firmin, have also established a new Junior Section under the Bison umbrella. The new Bison Ice Hockey Academy aims to provide a pathway from learn-to-play to adult hockey, with structured training and expert coaching. You can find out more about the Junior Academy at www.basingstokebison.com/academy.

Heath Rhodes, Chief Operations Officer for Planet Ice commented ‘Seeing figure skaters, synchro teams, and ice hockey back in the building has been a priority since closing the last year and we look forward to welcoming back all the clubs that operated here as well as any new interests. This is an exciting milestone for the community, and we appreciate their patience and support as we complete final preparations’.

As part of the phased launch, the facility will initially operate under Phase One conditions, meaning some areas will remain under development. The main reception and downstairs servery, will be temporarily closed to the public, with a full refurbishment expected to be completed ahead of October Half Term.

To help staff manage this busy period, they kindly ask that customers do not call or visit the rink in person to make bookings, as staff will not be available on-site during ongoing works.
