Children's Skate Safe Policy

An addition to our current safety measures, Planet Ice will implement a mandatory standard glove wearing policy for U12s at all ice rinks throughout the UK from 1st June. Customers will be charged at cost price (£1) for gloves on entry, or they will have the option to bring their own. In addition, ski-style gloves that offer even further protection will be added to our merchandise range and available to purchase online or on-site. Glove wearing will be policed by on-ice stewards throughout skating sessions.

What Planet Ice are doing to keep children skating safely:

* All Skate Excellence pupils are taught how to fall, and how to get up safely.

* All skate excellence pupils are provided with gloves to wear throughout their course.

* Anyone skating inappropriately will be removed from the ice by on-ice stewards.

We support Chloe Lewis and her petition encouraging the use of gloves in ice rinks. We encourage people to learn more about the campaign and consider signing the petition to help raise awareness of this important safety initiative.
