Planet Ice Solihull has an exciting opportunity for a Duty Manager
Planet Ice are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join the management structure at the Planet Ice Solihull. Have you got at least a year of Team Leader or Duty Management experience? Are you looking to join a company where there’s room to progress up the ladder in a fun and exciting environment where no two days are the same? This could be the role for you!

You would be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the ice rink, you will be supporting the General Manager and the rest of the management team. You will also take direct responsibility for the running of the F&B operation including our bar, café & vending operation.

You should possess the skills to work closely with the team to set and achieve key business standards and objectives. You will be responsible for implementing the company policies & procedures as well as adhering to Health & Safety legislation.

Your duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  1. Opening/Closing the building as a Key Holder
  2. Overseeing the smooth operation of our various departments with a big focus on F&B
  3. Ensuring the building is safe, clean and welcoming through completion of all H&S paperwork
  4. Working alongside the General Manager to ensure that all members of staff have the relevant training and HR paperwork
  5. Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed within F&B
  6. Reveiewing all orders placed for the café, bar and vending
  7. First Aid when required
  8. Assisting customers with any issues they may experience while visiting us

You as a person will need to be

  1. A good communicator in person by phone & email.
  2. Have a passion for delivering a high quality customers experience.
  3. Passionate about delivering a high quality F&B experience
  4. Understand the importance of compliance with food hygiene standards
  5. Be able to motivate and manage staff providing leadership to utilise the full potential of the team.
  6. Oversee Health & Safety of customers and staff
  7. Have a methodical approach to cash handling and paper work.
  8. Maintain a friendly, courteous and cheerful attitude while working under pressure

The successful candidate will be keen to learn about the ice and events industry and will preferably have their own transport to and from work, as the role requires anti-social hours and regular weekend work. Reliability is a must, so excellent timekeeping and attendance record is essential. We’re looking for outgoing people who are confident in dealing with a huge spectrum of customers, while remaining professional and brand-aware.

Overview
Working as a Team Member in Papa John’s you will be part of the overall kitchen team, making sure that our customers always have fantastic customer service and freshly baked pizzas and side orders to Papa John’s brand standards in a way that is friendly, efficient and exceed their expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Carrying out food preparation
  2. Being up to date with product knowledge and marketing initiatives
  3. Using the computer system to take orders
  4. You may be asked to operate another food or drink outlet within the facility at Ice Hockey or other events
  5. General cleaning duties with the kitchen and seating areas
  6. Ensure that tables are cleared, wiped down and bins emptied when required
  7. You will assist with safe evacuation of the Bar and Kitchen in the event of an emergency evacuation
  8. You will make sure that you attend your shift at all times in a well presented manner and wear the company uniform (if issued) while on duty
  9. You must attend all staff training session if scheduled
  10. You will help assist with any specific daily or weekly check sheets
  11. You will be responsible for making sure the kitchen is fully stocked prior to opening. You must also inform the duty manager if you are low on stock and require an order to be placed
  12. You will be able to work unsociable hours and have an ability to work flexible shift patterns e.g. morning shift, evening shift, weekends

As part of a Team Members role you will need to make sure that the store and equipment are cleaned to a high standard at all times and maintain food hygiene and health and safety standards to ensure the safety of all customers, yourself and other team members.

Overview
As a receptionist you are the first point of contact for all customers and visitors of Planet Ice. You will provide a professional and efficient service. You will also be required to wear the correct uniform, looking presentable at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Dealing with all customer queries in relation to Planet Ice both in person and via telephone/email.
2. Any problems/faults in regard to health and safety must immediately reported to your supervisor.
3. Operating tills – Handling cash, cheques, PDQ machine.
4. Attendance to staff training sessions is imperative.
5. Full knowledge of information being delivered i.e., prices, opening times, lessons, parties and special promotions.
6. To answer all telephone calls in a polite and friendly manner assisting with any queries and responding to messages.
7. To accurately handle cash, cheque and credit card transaction.
8. Receive and sign out the floats, prepare the tills and complete all checks prior to opening.
9. To assist in controlling the customers upon entry into the facility, ensuring that all health & safety recommendations are adhered to.
10. Responding to customer emails as and when required.
11. To take group bookings, party and lesson bookings, ensure all confirmation/deposits are complete.
12. To maintain the highest possible standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
13. To attain, record and safety store away any lost property found or lost within Planet Ice.
14. To assist with paperwork or administration required. i.e., databases etc
15. Ensure the reception area is clean and tidy at all times.
16. Inform management of any customer issues/complaints.
17. Completed tasks include opening and closing check sheets.
