The wait is almost over, we will begin our early stages of opening Planet Ice Bristol for October Half Term on the 25th of this month. We will open the doors for public skating, Learn to Skate taster sessions, and private hire in just a few days. We’ll also be welcoming back the Bristol Pitbulls to the city for their first hockey game on the 30th of October.
Due to supply issues with specialist materials, certain areas of the rink won’t be accessible to the public from the opening day. We will be continuing to develop the facilities at the rink such as our café and bar and in the meantime, a pop-up food and beverage offering will be available at the rink. Preparations are also underway to launch Planet Ice’s first permanent roller rink as an exciting addition to our portfolio.
A phased opening approach means there are many things to look forward to over the coming months including our parents comfort zone, the opening of our café, and our birthday party suites.
We have been overwhelmed with the support the local community has given us with bookings filling up fast for our Learn to Skate programme. Due to this, we have introduced taster sessions which provide an introduction to skating, headed up by lead coach Fiona Forbes Zaldua and Dmitry Sukhanov. Taster sessions are a great opportunity to determine your skating level and learn new skills in preparation for the six-week Learn to Skate classes which begin in November.
For skaters keen to take to the ice before the six-week courses begin, we have also released an additional 3 day Learn to Skate course starting this October half term from the 27th – 29th of October, bookings can be made right here
We can’t wait to welcome Bristol onto the ice in a permanent rink for the first time in nine years.
We hope you’ll join us for a skate soon!
