The Arena Group Re-Open Norwich as new Planet Ice Rink

Planet Ice have today announced that the Norwich rink will be open for a limited amount of time on Christmas Eve from 12 midday to 4pm for Holiday Ice Skating. The services will be limited for a short period of time but customers will be able to enjoy a restricted menu including hot and cold drinks. There will be tables and chairs also with the rest arriving very soon.

Planet Ice hope to announce an official opening somewhere in mid January

Planet Ice have now finished the maintenance on the plant that drives the ice rink. There has been some aesthetic work done to the interior as well. We are currently develping the new timetable and organising new Learn to Skate courses for the new year. Planet Ice Norwich, will become a SKATE UK approved centre, which will mean it will join the elite number of rinks in the UK recognised by the governing body NISA. The telecommunication go in within the next few days which means the telephones will be live. We are currently distributing a christmas timetable for people of Norwich to see the opening times over the Christmas period.

The management team of Planet Ice stepped into the Ice Experience at Norwich on Friday October 30th to begin the task of establishing the Planet Ice brand on the local community. The team, made up of Mike Petrouis, John Neville, Chris Hartrey, and Stephen Hicks came to Norwich to see the improvements being made and talk with local people and media agencies about the plans Planet Ice have for the recently acquired building.
There was a great turnout from local Norwich people with a lot of questions for the team on how the building will continue into the future and exactly what people can expect from the Planet Ice brand.
Planet Ice are the largest provider of Ice Leisure in the UK and have rinks in 8 different areas around Britain. The company, formed over 10 years ago, have continued to grow despite the economic downturn affecting many other businesses in the leisure industry.
Mike Petrouis commented It was a great day in Norwich on Friday. Yes, there needs some work done to the building but we are happy that it will be operational quite soon. It has been really interesting meeting people from the local community, including the Synchro and Figure clubs, Ice Hockey team, and previous employees of the rink and we look forward to establishing the building as a rink Norwich people can be proud of.
The team held a special open meeting in the late afternoon for a few hours so that local people could discuss the plans for the future and also express an interest in being a part of the future of the business. Mike continued It was a really positive day and everyone seemed so upbeat about us being here. We would like to thank everyone who came to speak with us and especially the local media agencies who have been so accommodating and helpful.

The Arena Group UK are pleased to announce today the re-opening of the ice rink formerly known as Ice Experience at the Norwich Sports Village, in late 09. The rink has been dogged with issues for the past twelve months until The Arena Group took over the building as part of the Planet Ice brand Europe largest Ice Leisure Provider.
Mike Petrouis commented We have our technicians in the building currently going over the plant and the general layout. We will not be changing the size or dimension of the ice, but the modifications we are making in the short term, will contribute to improving the overall ice skating experience - with new skate hire, reception area, sound to light system, and cafe.
Planet Ice hopes that by bringing the rink into the group it will have a steady and more reliable future. Planet Ice will introduce all their best selling brands into the development including Birthday Party packages, Learn to Skate, After School Skate, and Weekend Family Disco Sessions.
